Windows 7 to finally allow you to un-install IE 8.

March 4, 2009

As this article states, you are finally allowed you un-install IE 8 from the latest Windows 7 build. The last time this could be done was in 1997, before
the internet crazed, and Microsoft’s integration of IE in the Windows shell. Sadly, I couldn’t get that build to test it, but hopefully this feature will be
in the RC, which is to be released in April. I’d like to see what the anti-IE, Windows 95 running geeks have to say about this. Does this mean that they’ll
finally upgrade to 7? Of course there’s other problems with the post-95 OS’s, such as DRM and exorbiant system requirements (at least in Vista/7’s case),
I feel this is a pretty good thing overall.

Got my New DVD burner.. Windows 7 here I come!

I just installed my brand new DVD burner, so I’ll burn the iso that’s been sitting in my my downloads folder. Plus, I’ll write an in depth review of it. More.. coming soon.

Is Windows 7 really all that good?

January 18, 2009

I think this article really made me think. Is Windows 7 really all that good? Microsoft (me, you, and every other blogger included) is comparing Windows 7 to Windows Vista, which to put it bluntly, is shit. Why not compare it to a great operating system, Windows XP? Anything that is even remotely better than Vista will be touted as “great” compared to Vista. But what about XP? Why not compare the two “greats”? Show us if Seven, is truely, better than XP. Since I still DON’T have a DVD burner (I just don’t have the money), I can’t compare Seven to XP.

My Windows 7 Experiences.. so far.

January 10, 2009

I downloaded Windows 7, have a bunch of keys (ask me if you need one and I’ll give you one), but my DVD burner is broke. The one DVD that did burn doesn’t have any Windows readable data, and the other DVD’s I had would NOT be detected by my DVD burner, which happens to be an HP DVD740i. With burners being so cheap (one can be had on NewEgg for under $25), I guess I should just go and buy a new one. Hopefully, after I do do that, I’ll be able to install Windows 7, until then I’m gonna use Windows XP.

Windows 7 Ultimate x86 version

Windows 7 Ultimate x64 version

Don’t know if you’ll be able to get a key for it, but I’m sure there is a way around it. Or you can just use it for 30 days.

Plus, I only downloaded the x86 version, don’t know if the x64 version will work.
