The power went out a few hours ago due to ice snapping a wire. Thus, I was left without any electronic entertainment. And from what I did in Summer, 2007, when I decided to try to use the internet less (which is a long story in its own right), I’m surprised I didn’t go mental. Well, anyway its good to be back from being unplugged.

I’ve been planning for such a thing to happen for awhile now. If the power goes out, some of my stuff is on about two hours worth of battery backup, provided by some lead-acid batteries I bought at Radio Shack.
It only lasted maybe fifteen minutes, but a friend and I played SoulCalibur II on the GameCube in the middle of a power outage using my laptop and capture card as the TV.

I was going attempt to do a thing like that. And, I did have a UPS once. But it’d never fully charge, so it’d never successfully shut down.
